Diagnostic Pathology

The Comparative Pathology laboratory (CPL) is the laboratory animal diagnostic laboratory for UC Davis. It provides a complete range of diagnostic and veterinary medical services for the animals used in teaching and research. The services include anatomic pathology evaluation, clinical chemistry panels and evaluation, hematology determinations with analysis, parasitology examinations, microbiology cultures and antibiotic sensitivities, serology and polymerase chain reaction diagnostics for laboratory animal diseases. These services are provided to the faculty, staff, and students working with research animals in the UC system and other academic institutions, and private research/biotechnical facilities using animals. The CPL has research capabilities in molecular biology, histomorphometry and laboratory animal medicine diagnostic areas (clinical pathology, microbiology, parasitology, serology, and pathology).
