Acknowledge the Mouse Biology Program (MBP)

Publications: By obtaining a product or service from us, you agree to acknowledge the Mouse Biology Program (MBP) in any research publication resulting from their use. As an academic, not-for-profit resource, your acknowledgment of us is crucial to demonstrate the value of our products and services to the research community. Please also remember to send mbp@ucdavis.edu a PDF of any paper after publication. The following are examples of text you may use for acknowledgment in your publication:

“Knockout mice were generated by the University of California, Davis, Mouse Biology Program (MBP)”.

“We are grateful for the technical support, products and services provided by the Mouse Biology Program (www.mousebiology.org) at the University of California Davis.”

Presentations: When making presentations from the use of products and/or services obtained from the MBP, we would greatly appreciate acknowledgment. The following is an example of text you may use for disclosure in your presentation:

“Knockout mice were generated at the University of California, Davis, Mouse Biology Program (MBP)”.

“We are grateful for the technical support, products and services provided to our research by the Mouse Biology Program (www.mousebiology.org) at the University of California Davis.”

Grant Applications: We are happy to provide you with a letter of support for your upcoming grant application that proposes using products or services the Mouse Biology Program (MBP) provides. Contact us at mbp@ucdavis.edu to request a letter.

Project-specific Acknowledgements:

KOMP: By obtaining a KOMP product (e.g., knockout mouse, germplasm etc) or service, you agree to acknowledge NIH support for the KOMP program. The following is an example of text you may use for acknowledgment in your publication, presentation, and/or grant application: “The mouse strain used for this research project was created by the Mouse Biology Program (www.mousebiology.org) at the University of California Davis using vector [INSERT VECTOR ID HERE], generated by the trans-NIH Knock-Out Mouse Project (KOMP) and obtained from the MMRRC (www.mmrrc.org). NIH grants to Velocigene at Regeneron Inc (U01HG004085) and the CSD Consortium (U01HG004080) funded the generation of gene-targeted vectors and ES cells for over 8500 genes for the KOMP Program.”

CSD Targeted Alleles:

“The mouse strain used for this research project was created by the Mouse Biology Program (www.mousebiology.org) at the University of California Davis using vector [INSERT VECTOR ID HERE], generated by the trans-NIH Knock-Out Mouse Project (KOMP) and obtained from the KOMP Repository (www.komp.org). NIH grants to Velocigene at Regeneron Inc (U01HG004085) and the CSD Consortium (U01HG004080) funded the generation of gene-targeted vectors and ES cells for over 8500 genes in the KOMP Program and archived and distributed by the KOMP Repository at UC Davis and CHORI (U42RR024244).”

Eummcr-Distributed Embryonic Stem Cells used to Generate ES Cell and Mice:

The following is an example of text you may use for acknowledgment when acknowledging Eummcr stem cells in your publications:

“The [gene] mouse strain used for this research project was created from ES cell clone (CLONE ID HERE) generated by the WellcomeTrust Sanger Institute, purchased from the Eummcr and made into mice by the Mouse Biology Program (www.mousebiology.org) at the University of California Davis”.

The following is an example of text you may use for acknowledgment for methods used on the EUCOMM targeted alleles:
